XLUNA Studio is an independent software studio founded by Hasnain Butt Akhtar in England. It builds apps that run on your own device, ask for no account and are paid for once. XLUNA is the founder's second studio, after Hasnain Studio X.
XLUNA did not start with investors, a boardroom or a big team. It started with one developer, one belief and the patience to build, release after release.
Hasnain Butt Akhtar believed something the software industry had started to forget: when you pay for a tool, it should be yours. Not rented by the month, not locked behind an account, not watching what you do. That belief was the spark for everything that followed.
The belief became a studio. Hasnain Studio X grew into a catalogue of 79 local-first apps for Windows and Android, all designed, coded and shipped by its founder. It proved that one independent maker, working with care, can build what people usually expect from a whole company.
Every app taught the same lesson. People want tools they can trust: no subscriptions, no sign-ups, and AI that runs on their own machine with their data kept close. Those weren't features to add later. They were the whole point.
In 2026 that lesson got a home of its own. XLUNA is named for the new moon, the quiet moment when a cycle begins and the sky is still dark. Not an ending, a beginning: a studio built from its first line around the promise that what you buy stays yours.
The first XLUNA apps are being built now across seven orbits. They are made to still be working, and still be yours, long after today's trends have faded. Each release adds a little more light, the way a crescent grows night by night into a full moon.
"The sky is darkest at the new moon. That is exactly when the light begins."XLUNA Studio
X is the crossing point. Luna is the moon. Together they name a studio built around one fixed promise, with apps travelling around it.
A new moon's first crescent, cut by a beam of light. The crescent is the start of every cycle; the beam is each app setting out from it. Together they draw the X.
The studio's roadmap follows the lunar cycle, from new moon to full. The site even shows tonight's real phase, calculated live in your browser.
Apps are grouped into seven orbits by what they help you do: Create, Think, Power, Connect, Play, Build and Explore.
Founder of XLUNA Studio and Hasnain Studio X. An independent developer based in England, Hasnain designs, codes, tests and ships every app in-house, from the first sketch to the store listing. The work centres on local-first software: apps that put AI and powerful tools on the user's own device and leave the data there.
Both studios belong to the same founder and share the same values. Each has its own name, brand and catalogue.

The founder's original studio, with a catalogue of 79 local-first Windows and Android apps. It continues to publish, update and support those apps.
An app you buy should outlive trends, price changes and even the studio's own plans. XLUNA designs for that from the start.
Apps run on your device, so they do not stop working if a cloud service changes or closes.
There is no login to forget, lock or expire. The licence comes from the store you bought it from.
Work is saved in common, open formats wherever possible, so it can move with you to other tools.
On-device models get faster as your computer improves, with no per-use fees and no data sent away.
Pay once and the app keeps working, keeps improving and stays on your machine.
No telemetry and no accounts. What you make is nobody's business but yours.
One clear price, a real trial and a checkout without tricks.
Fewer apps, each completed properly, instead of a crowd of half-built ones.
